New approved Procedures on Livestock Inspection and quarantine process
Any quarantine station wishing to export animal consignment should
submit an official request to the INDIAN OCEAN AND RED SEA
Quality Management Company with details of the consignment
intended for export According to the form prepared for this purpose
before introducing animals to the quarantine.
On arrival of animals to quarantine, INDIAN OCEAN AND RED
SEA Quality Management Company Vets. Will collected
epidemiological information. Animals will be inspected and individual identification by ear tag and then blood samples will be collected for serological testing by the INDIAN OCEAN AND RED SEA Quality Management Company Vets. (The diseases subjected to testing according to the requirements of importing countries). Then animal kept in pre quarantine area until the appearance of blood
sample results. Animal will vaccinated and spraying for Ectoparasite according to the requirements of importing countries. Animals showing any signs of lameness, nasal discharge, oral lesions, eye lesions, respiratory abnormalities, and diarrhea will be placed in
the isolation pen for evaluation for further examination. Herds found to be infected with contagious diseases will not be
allowed to enter the holding area and the government vet will be informed to tack a decision other treated or slaughter the animals away from the quarantine facility. Animals will stay at the facility for ether 21 days before shipping or any other agreed period by importing country During the 21 days quarantine period, qualified veterinarians from the company will inspect animals daily and reject sick animal (isolate pen). Final inspection at the end of the quarantine period the animals will be transports to exporting ports. Export health certificate will be issued by the INDIAN OCEAN AND RED SEA Quality Management Company inspecting vet.
